Dr. Schneider`s 2007-8 Seminar Schedule

The following seminar schedule is posted for health care professionals interested in attending one of Dr. Schneider`s continuing education seminars. For the 2007-8 seminar season, Dr. Schneider will be presenting two seperate and distinct 12 hour courses.

The first course is an all-lecture format and features the topics of Fibromyalgia, Myofascial Pain, and Muscle Dysfunction. This course will review the most current literature and scientific basis of these conditions and give the attendee a comprehensive understanding about the mechanisms underlying fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, and all types of soft tissue dysfunction. Attendees will learn the most current conceptual models regarding the trigger point phenomenon, tendinopathies, adaptive shortening, stretch weakness, and the differences between focal and global muscle dysfunction. Dr. Schneider will present his own novel reclassification system for patients with widespread pain and discuss a diagnostic algorithm for differentiating "classic" from "pseudo" fibromyalgia.

In the second course, Dr. Schneider will be teaching a course entitled "Rehab in a Nutshell: An Evidence Based Approach to Spine Care". This course will feature a discussion about the principles of evidence based practice and how this relates to the 21st century practice of chiropractic. He will discuss the importance of using outcome measures to chart clinical progress toward functional goals that are jointly set by both doctor and patient. There will be a comprehensive review of the clinical examination of spinal problems, with an emphasis on how to differentiate facet, sacroiliac, and disc problems. Dr. Schneider will review the pertinent literature regarding the reliability of commonly used physical examination methods and diagnostic imaging. Finally, he will present a succinct summary of how the busy chiropractor can incorporate postural education and low tech rehabilitation methods in their practices.
